Mirrors

Exploration of space through mirrors and displacing its architecture have become a central focus of my artistic investigation and exploration of identity.

Mirror has had a significant presence in my religious upbringing as a Muslim.

Furthermore, as a Physics graduate, I am very fascinated by the qualities of a mirror as a reflexive object with no inherent personality.

 

I am fascinated how mirror creates a temporary architectural composition where a known landscape oscillates between being understand as strange and familiar place. This oscillation runs in parallel with in my own experience and understanding of diasporic identity.
